About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated STEM Communication Officer to contribute to impactful outcomes in the Banyule Nillumbik Tech School. You'll play a key role in developing and facilitating programs within BanyuleNillumbik Tech School, supporting student-centered STEM education using design-based learning strategies.

You will also engage stakeholders and the public through innovative use of online channels, exhibition spaces, and events. If you have a passion for design, science, technology, engineering, and innovation, and a desire to inspire the next generation of innovators, this is the position for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop student-centered learning experiences and concepts through prototyping and digital/visual media.
  • Promote STEM and innovation within Melbourne Polytechnic and Tech School partnerships.
  • Collaborate in the development of Tech School learning programs embedding design, innovation, and enterprise skills.
  • Plan and execute Tech School events and activities.
  • Work with secondary students and teachers to facilitate inquiry-based projects.
  • Provide guidance on presenting and exhibiting resources online and within Tech Schools.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in Design, STEM education, Science and Technology fields.
  • Ability to confidently communicate complex concepts and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering and evaluating engaging learning activities and exhibits.
  • Strong digital, interpersonal, written, and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Anti-Discrimination, and Continuous Improvement principles.
Additional Requirements

Successful candidate will be required to provide:

  • A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • A National Police Check
