) is seeking driven lawyers to join our growing Insolvency & Commercial Litigation team. This is a rare opportunity to step into complex, high-profile matters early in your career - acting for Commonwealth and State government departments, major corporations, liquidators and private clients.

The opportunity

Insolvency is a cornerstone practice at CMN. You will gain hands-on responsibility across a wide variety of disputes - from large-scale, complex litigation through to smaller but strategically important matters in multiple jurisdictions. Unlike many roles at your level, you will have genuine opportunities to appear in court, manage your own files under supervision, and contribute directly to outcomes that matter.

You'll work closely with our Directors and senior lawyers, learning in real time from experts while developing your own client, advocacy, and drafting skills. About the role

Reporting to the Directors and senior lawyers, you will:

  • assist in the conduct of a range of insolvency and commercial litigation matters, including preparation of pleadings, evidence, and submissions.
  • manage day-to-day conduct of matters with support and supervision.
  • appear before courts and tribunals.
  • contribute to drafting deeds, contracts and advices in insolvency and related commercial contexts.
  • develop your legal knowledge and strategic thinking skills while delivering high-quality legal services.

About you

We are looking for a lawyer with:

  • 2 – 5 years' post-admission experience in insolvency and/or commercial litigation.
  • a strong academic record and well-developed research capability.
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • the ability to think strategically and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • a proactive, collaborative style, balanced with the confidence to work independently.
  • above all, you're ambitious to build a career in insolvency and commercial litigation, and you want the chance to do it with real responsibility.
