Majestic Young Plants is a propagation nursery and horticultural company, supplying wholesale markets both in Australia and internationally with high quality plant material.

We are located in Healesville, Victoria. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced horticulturist/scientist to oversee our laboratory tissue culture program.

Key responsibilities-

  • Oversee laboratory operations
  • Assist with nursery plant health and hygiene
  • Oversee nursery mother-stock for tissue culture initiation material
  • Relationship management of new and existing suppliers
  • Drive growth through new program development, of new and existing tissue culture programs
  • Be willing to adopt and implement a continuous improvement philosophy

Requirements-

  • Bachelor level qualification in a crop science or plant biotechnology discipline
  • Experienced applicants of at least 1 year of tissue culturing
  • Strong knowledge of vegetative and tissue culture production techniques
  • Plant knowledge and understanding
  • Experience in horticulture supply chain and procurement.
  • Laboratory operations experience a necessity

The successful applicant will work in conjunction with our Operations Director and Managing Director, General Manager & Production Manager.
