Vipac Engineers & Scientists Ltd is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Brisbane-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a group of experts specialising in industrial vibration, structural dynamics, and structural design.

Vipac is a respected, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy operating across Australia. We deliver specialised services in vibration, acoustics, pressure/pulsation, structural design, and other key engineering fields to a broad range of sectors, including infrastructure, oil & gas, defence, mining, industrial, and commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical consulting services in vibration and structural dynamics.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Conduct root cause analysis, and provide actionable engineering solutions.
  • Perform FEA stress analysis for a variety of equipment and structures including pipelines and pressure vessels.
  • Design and analysis of mechanical structures subject to dynamic loading.
  • Perform vessel design, nozzle load calculations, and pressure vessel studies.
  • Design for resonance and fatigue mitigation.
  • Apply criteria given in codes and standards in the preparation of design recommendations.
  • Write detailed technical reports as required.
  • Work effectively as a multi-disciplinary project team member.
  • Engage in positive client relationships.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years' practical experience.
  • RPEQ Accreditation.
  • Experience with ANSYS Mechanical or similar FEA packages.
  • Experience with AS4100, AS3990, AS1170, BS7608.
  • Experience with fatigue cycle counting and fracture mechanics is highly regarded.
