About the role:
As a Community Projects Officer, you'll lead and supervise job seekers participating in Community Project activities. You'll help individuals develop practical skills and confidence for future employment, while encouraging engagement in meaningful community projects. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with local stakeholders and create projects that reflect community priorities and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Activities: Oversee community projects, ensuring job seekers are engaged in safe, productive, and skill-building tasks.
- Mentor and Support: Encourage and motivate participants, supporting them in developing workplace communication and behaviours.
- Maintain Resources: Assist in managing tools, materials, and equipment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Engage the Community: Work collaboratively with local organisations and community members to develop projects that are aligned with community needs and job seeker goals.
What we're looking for:
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to motivate others.
- Experience in planning, organisation, and working independently or as part of a team.
- A passion for supporting vulnerable individuals and promoting positive community outcomes.
- Manual C Class driver's license (essential).
- Ability to obtain a National Police Check (essential).
Preferred but not essential:
- Experience working with Indigenous Australians and organisations, with an understanding of challenges in rural and remote communities.
