Your Opportunity
We're seeking a skilled professional to manage Cement Australia's bulk product portfolio, ensuring performance, compliance and reliability across our product range. In this role, you'll lead product development, supporting our customers with fit-for-purpose solutions that align with both their carbon reduction goals and Cement Australia's sustainability roadmap.
You'll work closely with our National Technical Manager, providing hands-on support across all aspects of technical management, including direct assistance to customers with complex field challenges and collaborating with our operations and supply chain to deliver results for our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on product performance, customer outcomes, and our transition to a lower-carbon future.
In this role, some of your main duties can include:
- Providing technical support and advice to internal teams and customers, including mix designs, troubleshooting, and product performance
- Supporting the National Technical Manager with customer interactions and technical management of the business
- Assisting sales teams with technical issues, major supply agreements, and tenders
- Delivering quality assurance and compliance data for customer projects and road authority registrations
- Managing interchangeability of cementitious products across markets
- Leading R&D and product development activities at our Darra Laboratory and customer sites
- Developing strong knowledge of Darra Centralised Laboratory operations and specialist testing technology
- Overseeing benchmarking programs and compliance with industry standards
- Ensuring all products are tested to NATA requirements and reports meet customer and business needs
- Contributing to customer and industry sustainability and decarbonisation roadmaps
- Providing technical input for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and environmental reporting
- Undertaking quality benchmarking audits at laboratory and assisting customer sites with quality management activities
- Participating in industry committees and Australian Standards development
- Managing and reporting on R&D programs, including trials and taxation claims
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 5 years' technical experience in cement/concrete, with B2B industrial exposure
- Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or Engineering (essential)
- Strong understanding of cement chemistry, process and quality control, concrete technology and mix design
- Knowledge of concrete industry requirements, infrastructure compliance, and sustainability roadmaps
- Non-technical industry exposure across cement production, logistics, sales (desirable)
- Experience in construction material testing and technical problem-solving
- Advanced skills in spreadsheets, data systems, and reporting tools
- Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to lead, influence, and manage projects and teams
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining strong customer relationships
