Machining & Fabrication Supervisor

Cascade (Australia) Pty Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of the global Cascade Corporation, our head office is in Portland, Oregon in the USA.  In Australia, we have a significant operation located at Darra in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane. We manufacture and supply a broad range of forks, attachments, and accessories to the Materials Handling, Construction and Automated equipment Market.

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for driven and committed Machining & Fabrication Supervisor to join our production team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role will be suited to someone who is skilled at production supervising and has a passion to promote and develop a positive culture. Trades experts with previous Team Leader experience are encouraged to apply Experience in a warehousing environment is not preferred.

Key duties of the role:

• Safety driven. The ability to develop and promote a safe culture
• An absolute commitment to product quality and delivery, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Knowledge of hydraulics, fabrication, and the ability to read drawings
• Planning, managing and controlling respective production section
• The ability to drive the Cascade values and create a positive culture with a priority on developing and empowering the production staff members
• Confidence to give relevant and sufficient instructions
• Decision making in relation to production issues
• Flexibility in meeting customer requirements
• Willingness to work collaboratively as part of the team and to leader/supervise the team

Qualifications and experience

• Minimum 3 years of proven relevant experience in a fast-paced manufacturer environment, (experience in a warehousing environment is not preferred)
• Qualification or experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, or metals trades industry
