About the role

Kalo Design Shopfitting pty ltd is seeking an experienced Leading Hand Joiner and CNC Operator to join our team in Bankstown, NSW. This full-time position is integral to the success of our high-quality commercial shopfitting and joinery projects.

What you'll be doing

  1. Lead and supervise a team of joiners and cabinet makers on site
  2. Operate CNC machinery to fabricate complex joinery components
  3. Collaborate with the design team to bring concepts to life through expert woodworking
  4. Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard of quality and safety
  5. Mentor and train junior team members in carpentry and cabinet making techniques
  6. Liaise with project managers to coordinate workflows and meet deadlines

What we're looking for

  1. Extensive experience as a Leading Hand Joiner or Cabinetmaker, with a minimum of 5 years in the industry
  2. Proven expertise in operating CNC machinery to fabricate high-quality joinery components
  3. Experience operating woodworking CNC machinery specifically for joinery fabrication
  4. Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team
  5. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  6. Thorough understanding of relevant building codes and safety regulations
  7. Formal qualification in Carpentry, Cabinet Making or a related trade
  8. Possession of either Certificate III or Certificate IV in Carpentry, Cabinet Making or related trade qualification
  9. Australian work authorisation required at time of application
