About the OpportunityCampbelltown and Camden Hospitals are seeking talented and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Clinical Coders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ICD-10-AM, or relevant tertiary qualifications in Health Management and experience using the 3M Codefinder. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also important.

What You'll be DoingThe Clinical Coder is responsible for the accurate and timely coding of inpatient episodes of care, in accordance with the Australian coding standards and other relevant documents. Other responsibilities include maintaining ethical coding practice and participating in quality activities.

  1. Completion of a recognised ICD-10-AM coding course or relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Health Information Management (with a clinical coding component).
  2. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  3. Experience using Patient Administration Systems, electronic medical record systems and coding software.
  4. Demonstrated detailed understanding of DRG assignment and the relationship between Clinical Coding and Activity Based Funding.
  5. Demonstrated attention to detail and proven ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines.
  6. Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
  7. Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of privacy and confidentiality.
