We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Coder to join our team. As a key member of our coding department, you will be responsible for accurately and timely coding inpatient episodes of care using ICD-10-AM.

Main Responsibilities:
  • You will analyse clinical documentation and extract relevant clinical and demographic data to assign codes using the ICD-10-AM classification system.
  • Your expertise in anatomy, disease processes, and medical terminology will be essential in maintaining coding accuracy and output in line with NSW Ministry of Health timeframes.
  • You will participate in audits and quality improvement activities to ensure compliance with coding standards, policies, and continuous education requirements.

The ideal candidate will have previous/current work experience in clinical coding or a strong aptitude to be trained as an entry-level coder.

  • Strong understanding of DRGs, Casemix, and episode funding applications
  • High attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to meet throughput targets
  • Commitment to ethical coding and quality documentation practices
