Who are we:

Ron Crouch Transport is a nationally owned transport, logistics and warehousing company. With over forty years' and with 100+ employees nationally, our company has depots and warehousing facilities in Wagga Wagga, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane.

What we require:

As the Operations Manager, you will oversee daily warehouse operations while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements under MHF legislation. This includes the safe storage, movement, and documentation of hazardous materials, managing inventory accuracy, and maintaining a high standard of workplace safety.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the daily operations and coordinating all warehousing activities, including receiving, dispatch, stock control, and order fulfilment
  • Coordinating daily logistics operations, including inbound and outbound deliveries
  • Booking freight with carriers, ensuring timely pickup and delivery
  • Preparing and reviewing transport documentation (e.g. consignment notes, labels)
  • Handling email and phone inquiries related to daily operational matters
  • Managing daily container scheduling and preparing pallet dockets
  • Handling paperwork, PODs, and data entry in transport management systems
  • Ensuring compliance with Major Hazard Facility (MHF) requirements, Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation, and Dangerous Goods regulations
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of hazardous substances and dangerous goods
  • Conducting regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and response planning
  • Leading, supervising, and mentoring warehouse staff to foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement

What will you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading warehouse or logistics operations, with exposure to Dangerous Goods environments highly desirable.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a similar warehousing or logistics role
  • Solid knowledge of the transport industry, freight booking, and carrier coordination
  • Strong knowledge of Dangerous Goods legislation, WHS, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel (intermediate to advanced)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a team
  • Proficient in the use of warehouse management systems and inventory control software
  • Forklift licence and experience operating warehouse equipment highly desirable
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
