Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Brewer to join our production team at the Gold Coast. The successful candidate will have at least 1 years' experience in a commercial brewing environment and be capable across all areas of production—from wort creation to packaging. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, high-standard brewery where attention to detail, quality control, and team spirit are essential.


Key Responsibilities
  • Execute all brewing and cellar operations (milling, mashing, lautering, boiling, fermenting, dry-hopping, centrifuging, and carbonating)
  • Clean and sanitize tanks, brewhouse, and production areas following SOPs
  • Perform QC/QA tasks including gravities, pH, temperatures, and sensory evaluations
  • Complete accurate production records and logs using brewing software
  • Operate packaging equipment (canning line, keg washer/filler) as required
  • Assist with inventory tracking of raw materials and packaging supplies
  • Collaborate with the brewing and broader production team to ensure efficiency, consistency, and safety
  • Support new product development and pilot brews as needed

Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in a commercial brewery
  • Solid understanding of the brewing process and beer styles
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality and cleanliness
  • Physically fit and able to work in a manual, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
  • Forklift license preferred (or willingness to obtain)
  • Formal brewing education (IBD, TAFE, etc.) is advantageous but not essential
  • Passion for beer and alignment with Black Hops values

Working Conditions
  • Full-time role with shift work, including some early mornings and evenings
  • Based at the Black Hops production facility in Biggera Waters
  • Work includes lifting, bending, and operating in hot and wet environments
