Assistant Manager Property Services

About the Role:

Mercy College is seeking a proactive and experienced Assistant Manager Property Services to support the effective operation, presentation, and safety of our College grounds, facilities, and sporting areas. Working closely with the Property Services Manager, you will assist with maintenance coordination, compliance, refurbishment projects, and the day-to-day supervision of grounds, maintenance, and security operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain College grounds, gardens, ovals, and courts to a high standard
  • Respond to routine and urgent maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Support building refurbishments and capital works
  • Assist in implementing preventative maintenance and compliance activities
  • Coordinate tasks via the maintenance helpdesk system
  • Support OHS compliance and maintain a safe working environment
  • Build positive working relationships with staff and contractors
  • Assist with venue setup for College events
  • Contribute to budgeting, supplier liaison, and staff training
  • Act in the Property Services Manager role when required

About You:

  • Proven experience in property or facility maintenance
  • Strong coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of OHS and compliance requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

This position is 1.0 FTE full time and offers on ongoing contract starting as soon as possible. It is a Monday-Friday position working 48 weeks per year.
