Your Role
The Head of Marketing will have responsibility for content and marketing activities that reflect the brand of Tasmania Football Club (TFC), connects deeply with its fans and partners, and inspires generations both on and off the field.
This role will have responsibility to build a dynamic, bold and values-led marketing function, uniting the club, fans and communities through powerful storytelling and a shared unified purpose. The role will lead the creation of authentic, inclusive experiences and campaigns that reflect the Tasmanian ethos and cement TFC's identity as a bold, future-focused club in the AFL which ignites pride, fosters belonging, and builds powerful, purpose-led connections. Your responsibilities will encompass:
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and lead a high-performing team grounded in collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.
- Unite the club's marketing efforts under a clear, shared vision to maximise strategic alignment, efficiency, and brand impact.
- Cultivate strong, purposeful relationships with key stakeholders including AFL Tasmania, government bodies, local councils, schools, industry partners and broader communities state-wide.
- Collaborate closely across the Club to ensure marketing strategies support and amplify the club's broader ambitions and priorities.
Brand Identity & Development
- Implement a robust, purpose-led brand strategy aligned with the Club's purpose, values, and business objectives.
- Articulate TFC's brand DNA, including voice, tone, values, and visual identity, ensuring cohesion across all touchpoints.
- Build a brand culture that reflects and amplifies the spirit of TFC.
Marketing Strategy, Content & Campaign Management
- Lead a bold, future-focused omnichannel marketing strategy that balances commercial growth with meaningful brand content.
- Oversee end-to-end campaign delivery and content development across all touchpoints including elite teams, membership, merchandise, education and commercial harnessing cross-functional collaboration and integration.
- Leverage data, insights, and technology to shape agile, fan-first strategies that strengthen brand relevance and position TFC as a progressive industry leader.
Purpose-Driven Brand & Community Impact:
- Champion a fan-first approach by embedding fans and wider community voices, values and experiences into all brand storytelling to foster deep, purpose-led connections which harnesses the power of belonging.
- Lead and be the guardian of TFC's identity through inclusive, emotionally resonant campaigns and content that reflect the heart and spirit of the club and community it represents.
- Drive purpose-driven partnerships and initiatives that establish TFC as a force for social impact in Tasmania and broader industry, contributing to meaningful relationships which deliver long-term and positive change.
Budget Management and Planning
- Define, oversee, and optimise marketing budgets to ensure effective resource allocation and measurable return on investment.
- Balance financial accountability with bold, creative execution to maximise brand reach and strategic impact.
- Develop comprehensive marketing plans to guide activity and to share with the organisation more broadly.
Your background
- Demonstrated success in cultivating and growing dynamic, results-driven marketing teams.
- Genuine passion for purpose-driven marketing, combined with a hands-on approach to creating impactful content and campaigns that connect with diverse communities.
- A track record in developing and executing market segmentation and customer personalisation strategies to enhance campaign relevance, improve customer engagement, and drive business outcomes
- Proven partnership marketing experience focused on driving brand growth, expanding audience reach, and delivering mutual value through strategic, collaborative initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships across internal teams, external partners, and community groups.
- A deep understanding of brand, including visual identity, voice, tone, and values, with the ability to embed brand consistently across all touchpoints.
- Confidence in using data and insights to inform marketing decisions, optimise performance, and drive audience engagement.
