We are a large contemporary multi staff church ready to take another growth step. We have varied ministry programs, a vibrant bookshop, great community connections, and a large facility set on 13 acres. We are framing up a refreshed vision and strategic plan for the next 10 years. The Operations Administrator will enable and facilitate the administrative functions and operational requirements of the Church including developing systems and framework to assist in the actioning of vision. The Operations Administrator also manages available resources to support the Pastoral Team more generally. The Operations Administrator is supported by the Administrative Assistant who, together with volunteers, comprise the Office Team.
Formal ResponsibilitiesThe Operations Administrator is a permanent full-time or part-time position responsible for the following tasks:
- Coordinating resources of the Church to ensure administrative and operational requirements are achieved;
- Assisting the Pastoral team in completing relevant administrative functions and building structure around vision;
- Oversight of communications and our digital presence, including production as required;
- Responding to enquiries (in person, and via email / telephone) and ensuring the appropriate actions are taken thereafter; and
- Maintaining confidentiality.
The Operations Administrator must be (or must be eligible to become) an active Member of Rockhampton Baptist Church. Furthermore, the Operations Administrator must have significant experience within an office (administrative) environment, or equivalent. Formal qualifications, at any level, in a related area (e.g accounting, communications, administration, etc) are desirable, but not mandatory.
The Operations Administrator must be an extremely effective communicator (written and verbal) and be able to work independently on tasks. The Operations Administrator must have the ability to utilise established technology systems in line with the responsibilities of the role to manage priorities and support the administration and organisation of the Church.

Recruitment Process
Applications for the Operations Administrator position must be submitted before 3:00pm on Thursday 16 October 2025. Applications must be submitted electronically to or be delivered in hardcopy to the Church Office during the hours of 8:30am – 3:00pm Monday to Thursday.

Short-listed Applicants will then be invited to participate in an interview, prior to a recommendation for the Preferred Applicant being presented at a Members' Meeting (next scheduled meeting is Sunday 23 November 2025).
