The Australian Government is implementing a Scams Prevention Framework (SPF) and intends for AFCA to be the External Dispute Resolution scheme operator for scam complaints under the framework.

AFCA has established a program to expand and operationalise this new jurisdiction related to banks, telecommunication service providers and digital platform providers.

Job Description

The role of the Senior Project Co-Ordinator - Scams is to provide project management support for the successful delivery of the Scams EDR Program, including all program workstreams and associated projects or initiatives.

This role includes (but is not limited to):

  • coordinating and supporting program activities
  • maintaining program schedules, registers (e.g. Risks, Actions, Issues and Decisions) and trackers (e.g. budget)
  • coordinating/ preparing program reporting for AFCA Board, AFCA Executive, Steering Committee and other stakeholders
  • supporting project communication
  • providing administrative support to the program team and Steering Committee.

This is an initial 18-24 month fixed term contract.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Experience in project management and understanding of various project management methodologies, including managing cross-dependencies across large programs is highly desirable.
  • Skilled in using project management software and tools, in particular knowledge of MS Project is desirable
  • Previous experience in regulatory/compliance related project delivery is highly desirable
  • Strong problem-solving skills and self-organisation
  • Team player with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to influence others
  • Excellent project planning and proactiveness in identifying risks and issues
  • Experience in working or delivering business initiatives and/ or projects at AFCA or within the financial sector or government agencies
  • Personal resilience with high levels of self and situational awareness, and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and deliver to timelines under pressure, effectively managing ambiguity and uncertainty.
