BIC Consolidated is a leading provider of cleaning services and we are looking for dedicated Sustainability Officer who can join our head office team in Rhodes.

The Role

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Sustainability Officer to join our ESG team. Reporting to the General Manager – ESG, this role will lead and support a wide range of sustainability initiatives, with a particular focus on waste management and resource recovery. You'll collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver practical solutions, improve NABERS Waste ratings, and drive measurable sustainability outcomes.

An overview of your responsibilities will include the below along with various as hoc tasks as required:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor sustainability initiatives to support BIC Consolidated and client ESG goals.
  • Analyse waste and recycling data, identify improvement opportunities, and provide actionable insights.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, delivering expert sustainability advice and presenting at workshops and meetings.
  • Design and deliver education and engagement programs that build awareness and improve recycling outcomes.
  • Prepare client sustainability and waste reports, ensuring compliance with industry frameworks and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Stay up to date with legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to continuously improve programs.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years' experience in waste management or sustainability roles.
  • Strong data analysis skills with the ability to translate insights into action.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to diverse stakeholders.
  • High competence with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
  • Familiarity with NABERS Waste ratings and sustainability frameworks (e.g. ISO 14001, AASB S2, GRI, EcoVadis) highly desirable.
