Opportunity currently exists for a Packaging Specialist to join our team based in our Rhodes office. In this full-time permanent role, the Packaging Specialist will manage the execution of packaging sustainability related projects and initiatives in line with corporate packaging strategy & policies and across both internal and external stakeholders. Also ensuring that Nestlé standards and procedures are maintained in respect to quality, safety, competitiveness, and profitability.

**A day in the life
Reporting to the Head of Packaging, key responsibilities include but not limited to:

- Project manage and support packaging projects and trials with focus on sustainability, line performance, cost efficiency and product quality.
- Conduct value analysis; identify and recommend cost improvements and source packaging reduction opportunities.
- Support factories in identifying unplanned stoppage reduction opportunities for packaging materials.
- Develop and implement packaging sustainability projects and initiatives in line with strategy and objectives.
- Analyse and produce internal and external packaging sustainability progress reports.
- Managing packaging and promotional documentation related to food safety and compliance directives.
- Support Corporate Procurement in the selection, assessment and development of new suppliers/converters.
- Support development of competencies of packaging technologists and disseminate packaging best practices and knowledge.

- Enjoy working within cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment.
- Tertiary Qualified in Engineering, preferably in Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical or equivalent. Science / Technology / Packaging / BSc Material Science.
- 3-5 years’ experience in Packaging Technology or equivalent roles
- Broad experience in packaging development and project management in FMCG.
- Previous experience and familiarity working with SAP preferred.
- A working understanding of Australian Food Regulations is beneficial.
