Executive Support Officer

About Cleaning Services  
The NSW Government's reforms to public sector cleaning services entail the NSW Department of Education taking over management of the state's Whole-of-Government cleaning contracts from January 1, 2026.

A team has been established to deliver an enhanced Whole-of-Government cleaning contract for alignment and delivery of all program streams. Including Governance, ITD, Recruitment and Risk Management.    

About the role
As an Executive Support Officer, you will deliver high-quality administrative and executive support, ensuring information flows smoothly, meetings run efficiently, and decisions are well-informed.

In this role, you will manage executive correspondence, diaries, and travel arrangements to keep the office operating seamlessly.

Key tasks include:

  • Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and taking and distributing minutes
  • Assisting with routine financial transactions, including purchase orders and receipts
  • Maintaining accurate records, organising information for reports and correspondence, and responding to enquiries, escalating or redirecting issues as needed
  • Your work will enable the Executive Director to focus on achieving organisational objectives with confidence.

About you  
We are looking for someone who is a proactive organiser and thrives on keeping everything in order and supporting a busy executive team.  

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Experience managing diaries, meetings, and correspondence
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in records
  • A proactive, helpful, and team-minded attitude

Key Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in providing administrative and executive support.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
