About the role
The role of Executive Support Officer (ESO) for the Deputy Secretary Energy, Environment and Evidence is a varied, interesting and trusted position. By providing executive support, the ESO will add value through diary and schedule management and organising priority requests on a daily basis. Supporting high-level meetings at short notice and preparing administrative documentation are key responsibilities for the role. The ESO is an important liaison and representative for this office therefore will involve fostering and building highly effective working relationships both internally and externally. This is a high impact and dynamic role, central to The Cabinet Office where every day can present new challenges and projects to be involved in and support.

We're Looking For
The Executive Support Officer role is one that would suit a highly experienced, flexible and dedicated professional, with a personable and friendly working style. This is an opportunity to make the role your own and build out the responsibilities and ownership of the position in a supportive and fast-moving environment.
- Act with Integrity: Extensive experience of working in a high profile, high integrity environment where you are a trusted liaison. Awareness of confidentiality balanced with statutory requirements in your daily practice.
- Manage Self: Experience in prioritising and organising the Deputy Secretary and other senior executive interactions within The Cabinet Office. Establish priorities and evaluate requests for appointments, engagements and organise all scheduling effectively and in a timely manner. Confident in meeting deadlines and working with others to assist in delivery.
- Communicate Effectively: High level written and verbal skills to support the senior executive and finalise issues on behalf of the Deputy Secretary. Extensive support for key meetings and committees and ensuring all communication is timely, clear and of high quality.
- Influence and Negotiate: Build effective and valuable relationships internally and externally and act as the primary liaison for the Deputy Secretary with government departments, non-government organisations and other external agencies
