About the role:
The Senior Project Officer works as a member of a team within the Improvement Branch and has responsibility for delivering large-scale health improvement initiatives as part of the Safer Together Program.
The Safer Together Program aims to enhance safety and sustainability in Victoria's health system by supporting networks to proactively address systemic issues and foster an environment of collaboration, sharing and learning. This initiative marks a new approach for SCV, evolving how we collaborate with consumers, clinicians, health services and Local Health Service Networks (LHSN) to achieve effective and lasting improvements.
To deliver on our shared purpose of creating a safer more sustainable healthcare system, our improvement initiatives will focus on four key priority areas:
- Reducing avoidable harm
- Reducing avoidable admissions
- Safe use of medicines
- Value based health care
The role reports to the Manager, Quality Use of Medicines Improvement Team and will work closely with other team members to ensure the implementation and delivery of Safer Care Victoria's functions and vision through the model for improvement and evidence-based change methodologies to improve the quality of treatment, care and support in Victoria's health and wellbeing services.

About you:
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to health administration, medicine, nursing, midwifery, paramedic, pharmacist or allied health is desirable.
- Certified Improvement Coach or equivalent highly regarded.
- Certified improvement qualifications highly regarded.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement and associated methodologies including data analysis and management is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience teaching, coaching and building capability in improvement science, including an understanding of adult learning principles.
- Previous project management experience in healthcare essential.
