About the role:

The Senior Project Officer works as a member of the family violence reform team within the Governance Strategy and Research Branch and has responsibility for delivering high quality projects that are designed to achieve better care and outcomes for Victorians. The role will deliver projects across a portfolio of complex, cross-functional initiatives-supporting both government and clinical leaders and divisional priorities. This includes managing interdependent workstreams, facilitating strong stakeholder engagement, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable impact.

The Senior Project Officer will develop effective relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders, including across all Branches within Safer Care Victoria, strategically aligned policy and program areas of the Department of Health, Department of Families Fairness and Housing and Victorian health services.

The role reports to the Manager and will work closely with other team members to contribute to whole of government reform and ensure the implementation and delivery against the SCV Strategic Plan and objectives.

About you:

  • A tertiary qualification in fields related to Health Administration, Policy, Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery, Paramedic, Pharmacist or Allied Health is desirable.
  • Certified project management qualifications.
  • Certified improvement qualifications.
  • Content knowledge in family violence reform. Ministerial writing and experience in government, health sector and/or health service delivery would be desirable, with skills and experience in policy development and implementation and/or project management.
  • Previous project management experience in a healthcare setting highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement and associated methodologies is desirable.
  • A strong understanding of the Victorian health system, and knowledge of the department and its operating processes and information systems is essential.
