About the roleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for various staff roles. We are looking for a Guest Service Officer (Receptionist) to join the team at Surfers Beachside Holiday Apartments, an apartment complex located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, Queensland. This casual role will see you play a pivotal part in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth running of the resort.

What you'll be doing

  • Welcoming and checking in/out guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Handling guest enquiries, requests and complaints efficiently and effectively
  • Providing local knowledge and recommendations to enhance the guest experience
  • Assisting with reservation management, including processing bookings and payments
  • Monitoring and replenishing supplies in the reception area
  • Coordinating and supervising the resort's daily operations and staff
  • Ensuring all resort facilities and public areas are well-maintained and presented to a high standard
  • Identifying opportunities to improve guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
  • Taking instruction as directed by management

What we're looking for

  • Availability: Flexible to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, to meet the needs of the business
  • Relevant experience: At least 2 years' experience working in a guest-facing role within the hospitality or tourism industry
  • Strong communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with guests and staff
  • Customer service orientation: A genuine passion for providing exceptional customer service and going the extra mile to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous in your approach to tasks and able to maintain high standards of presentation and organisation
  • Problem-solving abilities: Skilled at handling inquiries, requests and complaints in a calm and professional manner
  • Teamwork and leadership: Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team, as well as taking on a supervisory role when required
