Our Commercial & Technology team acts for a broad and ever-expanding client base, from high-growth start-ups and scale-ups, through to ASX-listed enterprises and multinational tech giants. The work is diverse, fast-paced, and intellectually engaging, covering everything from day-to-day commercial advisory to cutting-edge issues in software licensing, data protection, cybersecurity, AI, SaaS agreements, fintech, and IP commercialisation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading complex IT and commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating a wide range of tech-focused agreements
  • Advising on privacy law compliance, cybersecurity obligations, and data governance
  • Supporting clients on issues related to AI deployment, open-source software, platform terms, and digital product compliance.
  • Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to practice growth and development.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years PQE, ideally with top-tier private practice experience in commercial or TMT teams; in-house tech sector experience also highly regarded.
  • Strong drafting skills, commercial acumen, and ability to distil complexity into practical advice.
  • Confident managing client relationships and autonomously running files.
  • A genuine interest in technology, innovation, and emerging legal frameworks.
  • Bonus points if you've worked with early-stage companies, VCs, or have experience with cross-border tech deals.
