This is a senior leadership role for a commercial lawyer ready to take ownership of the Sydney Commercial Team. The successful candidate will combine technical excellence with business acumen and empathetic leadership, ensuring the team delivers exceptional outcomes for clients while building a positive and high-performance culture.

With Sydney being a strategic growth focus, they are seeking a standout lawyer to lead and reinvigorate the Commercial Team.

Salary and features of the position:
- Salary can be negotiated | $220,000 - $300,000 Range for the right Lawyer

*About the position:* Key areas of work will include:
- Advising on complex commercial contracts, joint ventures, licensing & distribution agreements
- Structuring and advising on shareholder/unitholder agreements, trusts, and succession planning
- Supporting franchisors and franchisees across governance, disputes, and commercial negotiations
- Advising not-for-profits and charities on ACNC compliance, DGR status, and structuring
- Guiding clients through risk management, business transitions, and strategic exits
This role is designed for a natural leader who thrives on building teams, inspiring trust, and supporting business clients with tailored, pragmatic advice.
Key Requirements:
- At least 10+ years PAE in commercial law with recognised expertise
- Proven leadership ability with a track record of growing or managing teams
- Strong transferrable client following.
- Commercially minded with a client-first approach
- Resilient, empathetic, and able to foster a healthy team culture
- Strong interest in building the Sydney office into a market-leading practice
