Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Contour Education Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year
Who We Are

At Contour, we're reshaping education, one student at a time.

Born from the frustration of students who knew the system could be better, we set out to build what we once wished existed: tutoring that actually works. Not generic classes. Not recycled notes. Not overpriced, overcrowded rooms with an out-of-touch teacher who couldn't relate. But a complete ecosystem of tutoring, resources, and support, meticulously designed to help every student reach their full potential.

Since 2020, over 10,000+ students have trusted Contour to guide their academic journey, and we've grown to over 300+ team members. We've produced hundreds of 99+ ATARs, tutored the World-Record UCAT scorer, and placed more students into medical school than any school in Australia.

Our growth is a testament to the simple philosophy: Put the student first, always. Everything we design, from our world-class tutor-training programs to our purpose-built campuses, exists to help students master content faster, perform with confidence, and even rekindle the joy of learning.

Contour is a group of three brands united by one goal: to give every student the best chance to achieve their full potential:

  • Contour Education: Reshaping how students master their high school subjects with small-group tutoring, structured resources, and 1-on-1 support across Maths, Science, and English.
  • Contour Medprep: Reshaping medical preparation with a proven, step-by-step pathway through the UCAT, interviews, and admissions, led by a team of 100+ medical students.
  • Contour TestPrep: Reshaping test preparation, starting with the selective entry exam, through rigorous tutoring, mock exams, and data-driven feedback to give students a decisive advantage.

This is Contour. Built by students, for students.

What You'll Do
  • Academic Delivery & Resource Operations: Oversee the end to end planning, coordination, and rollout of academic material to ensure students and tutors always have timely, high-quality resources available. Enforce and drive delivery timelines and documentation standards across the academic team.
  • Systems Design & Continuous Improvement: Build and continuously refine academic systems and documentation that improve efficiency, visibility, and quality across teams.
  • Project Coordination & Cross-Functional Execution: Lead the rollout of major academic initiatives and programs (diagnostic tests, workshops on holidays in Universities, or new subject launches), ensuring communication, deadlines, and delivery all stay on track.
  • People, Feedback & Team Uplift: Lead and develop Academic Coordinators and Resource Developers, building capability through structured coaching, clear processes, and structured feedback loops.
  • National Expansion & Scaling: Drive academic operations for Contour's interstate growth, adapting systems and resources for new state curricula and onboarding new academic contributors.
  • Quality Assurance & Data-Driven Improvement: Adapt academic systems and resources for new states and curricula as Contour expands nationally, ensuring alignment of standards and delivery consistency across all locations.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Coordinate with Operations, Marketing, and Leadership teams to ensure smooth communication, accurate rollouts, and cohesive student experiences across all academic touchpoints
What You Will Bring

You're a quality focused people-first leader and analytical thinker who's as driven by impact as you are by execution. You bring both structure and empathy to how teams work - ensuring every process, person, and project moves in sync toward student success.

You might describe yourself as:

  • A People-First Leader: You build capability, coach with clarity, and create structure that helps others do their best work, whilst maintaining high standards.
  • An Organiser of Chaos: You love turning moving parts into well-oiled systems that run smoothly and transparently.
  • Deeply Student-Focused: You understand how operations and resources translate into better learning experiences for students and tutors.
  • Experienced in Education: You've worked within the Australian education landscape and understand how academic delivery, curricula, and learning resources come together to support real student outcomes.
  • Operationally Skilled: You bring hands-on experience in operations, curriculum coordination, or resource development - balancing big-picture goals with day-to-day execution.
  • A System Builder: You excel at building frameworks, documentation, and feedback loops that keep complex operations running smoothly.
  • AI- and Tech-Fluent: You're comfortable using digital tools and AI to enhance collaboration, quality assurance, and delivery.
  • A Trusted Operator: You balance pace with precision, spot bottlenecks early, and own outcomes from start to finish.
  • Culturally Aligned: You share Contour's growth mindset, student-first philosophy, and belief that education can - and should - be better.
  • Bonus: You're familiar with Australian curricula (VCE, QCE, SACE, WACE, and eventually HSC) and available during peak academic periods.
Why You Will Love It Here
  • High Impact: Your work directly shapes how thousands of students experience learning - not through teaching, but by building the systems that power exceptional tutoring and resources nationwide. Every process you create helps tutors teach better and students learn deeper.
  • Leadership with Purpose: You'll lead talented Academic Coordinators and Resource Developers, building the foundations of a national academic operations function. You'll have the autonomy to design systems and shape culture - all in close collaboration with the Head of Academics.
  • A Clear Path for Growth: This is a pivotal, first-of-its-kind role with a direct pathway to senior leadership. As Contour expands nationally, you'll have the opportunity to grow toward Director-level responsibility, overseeing academic operations at scale.
  • Competitive Package: We offer a competitive salary for top-tier talent and a flexible, hybrid environment where we value output, not hours at a desk. Our supportive benefits include an EAP, birthday/loyalty leave, and lifestyle allowances.
  • A Vision to Believe In: We're ambitious, passionate, and on a mission to reshape education in Australia. Our goal is for Contour to become the most trusted name in tutoring nationwide.
