About the Company
Our client, an established metals producer operating in Tasmania is currently searching for a HR Advisor. With a strong focus on safety, sustainability and operational efficiency, the company is driving an improvement and growth phase and seeks to strengthen its HR team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic site-based team and make a meaningful impact in the development of people, processes and culture for a growing mining operation.
Position Overview
Reporting to the HR Superintendent, the HR Advisor provides day-to-day support across site HR activities. The role focuses on recruitment support, onboarding, employee and industrial relations administration, performance and training processes, HRIS/records management & compliance tracking. Ideal for a hands-on, solutions-focused professional with 1–5 years' experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end recruitment and onboarding (ad drafting, screening, interviews, offers, inductions).
- Assist with employee relations tasks (meeting notes, case file management, policy guidance, basic investigations).
- Maintain HR records, contracts, licences, medicals and training certifications; ensure data accuracy in HRIS.
- Coordinate site inductions, training schedules and competency tracking.
- Prepare HR reports, metrics and dashboards (headcount, turnover, leave, training).
- Support workforce planning activities (rosters, org charts, position descriptions) and improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with payroll on changes, allowances and timekeeping accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–5 years' HR generalist/coordination experience, ideally in mining/resources or heavy industry.
- Sound knowledge of HR fundamentals; exposure to ER/IR and WHS desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS; strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Collaborative, proactive and able to manage competing priorities in a site environment.
- Full Australian Working Rights are required for the position.
