Ambrose Estate is a busy, award-winning venue located on the beautiful Wembley Golf Course, featuring a modern restaurant and a spacious function centre that hosts weddings, corporate events, seminars and golf days.

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Functions Duty Manager to take the lead on all events held at the venue. This role is hands-on and focused on floor operations — perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being involved in the action.

You will work closely with the Events Manager and play a key role in ensuring every event runs smoothly from set-up to pack-down.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Overseeing and running all functions, including weddings, corporate events and social gatherings
  • Coordinating room set-ups and pack-downs
  • Leading and supporting the FOH team during events
  • Delivering staff briefings and providing guidance during service
  • Liaising with the kitchen and operations teams to ensure smooth event flow
  • Assisting with restaurant operations during the quieter events season
  • Maintaining clear and accurate communication about bookings and event details

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in functions/events at Supervisor or Duty Manager level
  • Proven experience managing both weddings or corporate events
  • Confident leading a team and coordinating busy event operations
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams of 5 or more staff members
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Hands-on, energetic and happy to support the team wherever needed
  • Availability to work weekends and late nights
  • Someone who enjoys creating memorable experiences for guests
