About the role
Yarra Ranges Council is seeking a Talent Acquisition Advisor to support recruitment initiatives across our Communities and Corporate Services portfolios.
The Talent Acquisition Advisor sits within the People & Culture Operations team and works closely with hiring managers and P&C Business Partners to identify recruitment needs, advise on best-practice process and candidate experience, and implement tailored approaches to suit the needs of each individual team.
The TA Advisor is also responsible for:
- Facilitating recruitment training and group interviews
- Leading and supporting a People & Culture Support Officer
- Contributing to improving recruitment systems and practices
- Representing the People & Culture team positively within the organisation and championing diversity, equity, and inclusion and child safety initiatives.
This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on collaboration, proactivity, customer service, and continuous improvement.
This is a full-time temporary position (parental leave backfill) until November 2026 with a salary range between $80,490 and $89,430 per annum (Band 5), plus superannuation.

Experience and skills we're looking for
- Proven experience in supporting and advising on end-to-end recruitment processes across diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, professional relationships with team members and leadership at all levels.
- The ability to juggle competing priorities and delegate tasks where appropriate.
- The ability to recognise emerging people-related issues or risks and escalate them to appropriate members of the team for support or resolution.
- A responsive, proactive and solutions-focused approach to supporting hiring managers and candidates.
- Previous experience supervising employees is desirable.
