About the role:
As a Senior Systems and Platform Analyst, you'll play a critical role in providing technical leadership and oversight for the design, integration, and ongoing performance of Origin's generation platform systems, including
Aveva PI.
The role ensures critical applications and infrastructure are reliable, secure, and scalable, while aligning technology with business and operational objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support integrated generation platform systems (including Aveva PI, cloud, IoT, and industrial data services) to ensure secure and reliable operations.
- Configure, monitor, and optimise PI interfaces, adapters, and OPC connections, while defining standards for integration and data transfer performance.
- Provide advanced technical guidance on system architecture, networking, and security, balancing immediate business needs with long-term sustainability.
- Collaborate with operations, technology, and business stakeholders to align systems with functional, compliance, and performance requirements.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis of complex integration issues, delivering sustainable solutions and mentoring peers.
- Drive best-practice adoption for cloud and IoT services while remaining hands-on with design, configuration, and optimisation.
- Engage vendors and service providers to ensure delivery meets Origin's technical standards, performance expectations, and business outcomes.
Skills & Requirements
- 5+ years in a technology or engineering role with strong Windows troubleshooting and support expertise.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience supporting Aveva/OSIsoft PI environments, including OPC interfaces and adapters.
- Strong knowledge of system integration patterns, data pipelines, SQL Server, and industrial data flows.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting for automation, integration, and data workflows.
- Familiarity with IoT technology patterns and emerging digital solutions.
- Solid understanding of Agile and DevOps practices, with experience applying them in operational and industrial technology contexts.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and resolve complex integration issues.
