About Us

APEM Group is a leading global environmental consultancy providing expert advice across industries such as water, renewables, infrastructure, marine and ports, transport, construction, and development. Following significant growth in the UK, EU, and USA, APEM Group strategically expanded into Australia in early 2024.

As part of APEM Group, Biosis specialises in Aboriginal archaeology, botany, environmental approvals, GIS, historical archaeology, historical heritage, and zoology. Since 1983, Biosis has guided clients in making informed decisions about ecology, heritage, and environmental approvals.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and dedicated team where you can make a genuine impact on our operations and support the efficient delivery of environmental and heritage consulting projects across Australia.

About the Role

Biosis Australia is growing, and we'd love you to be part of it

We are seeking a Facilities Officer to join our team on a 12-month contract, with strong potential to transition into a permanent role in our Wollongong office. You will report to the Facilities Coordinator (NSW) and play a critical role in keeping everything running smoothly across our NSW managed offices.

In this role, you'll make sure our buildings, vehicles, and equipment are well maintained and meet all legal, compliance and company standards. You'll respond to feedback from your teammates and help create a safe, efficient space for everyone to work in.

If you're someone who likes keeping things organised, solving problems, and being part of a supportive and dynamic team, this could be a great fit This role is a great opportunity for someone starting out or early in their career, particularly for those with an interest in ecology or heritage consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service: Maintain a service mentality towards the wider organisation by always responding promptly and professionally to all employee requests for assistance, including bookings for staff training and travel
  • Vehicles & Equipment: Responsible for managing bookings, disbursements, services, repairs, purchasing, deep cleans, and checks for vehicles and equipment across our NSW offices. This includes all specialist equipment for our consulting teams.
  • Asset Management: Follow asset management procedures, ensuring data is always kept up to date. Administration and auditing of vehicles, equipment, and other related components must be completed within agreed timeframes and standards.
  • Office Management: Effectively engage trades and subcontractors to complete necessary upkeep and repairs to assets and offices. Undertake regular office checks to ensure our offices are maintained to a high standard.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with attention to detail.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn – no prior experience is required.
  • A current and valid driver's licence.
  • The Right to live and work in Australia.
  • Flexibility to travel when required.

Next Steps

If this opportunity sounds like a great fit, we'd love to hear from you

At Biosis, we're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. Even if you don't meet every requirement listed, we encourage you to apply – we value potential and a positive approach and are open to supporting your growth.

To apply, please submit your resume along with a brief cover letter that includes three words you'd use to describe yourself.
