As we scale up, we're looking for a hands-on, proactive Research Facilities Manager to ensure our laboratory and pilot plant facilities are safe, efficient, and ready to power the future.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and continuously improve the daily operations of our laboratory and pilot plant facilities.
  • Ensure all equipment is installed, maintained, and calibrated to meet rigorous safety and quality standards.
  • Lead preventative maintenance and asset management programs to maximise uptime and reliability.
  • Oversee waste management, cleaning, and general readiness of facilities for team and client use.
  • Develop and maintain WHS documentation, conduct safety inspections, and drive a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Support experiment and production planning; provide technical and operational advice to internal teams.
  • Manage procurement, inventory control, and contractor onboarding for both lab and pilot plant environments.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to maintain smooth operations.
  • Maintain detailed documentation, including equipment logs, project reports, and safety records.

What We're Looking For

  • Knowledge of practical R&D Engineering and maintenance activities.
  • Knowledge of project and facility management, who can plan, organize and monitor performance to meet deadlines.
  • Experience: 7–10 years in laboratory, pilot plant, or facilities management within a technical, R&D or industrial setting.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of equipment commissioning, preventative maintenance, and process engineering.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field (Chemical, Mechanical), NSW Class C Driver's License required, WHS/HSE qualifications highly regarded.
  • Skills: Excellent problem-solving, organisation, and communication skills. Experience in procurement, supplier management, and regulatory compliance.
