Sydney CBD New South Wales Australia Drifter Full time $60,000 - $90,000 per year

Drifter is a new breed of accommodation, bringing the high-end curation of hotel design together with the community and spirit of a boutique hostel. We're the first of our kind and create spaces that are thoughtful, functional, and full of character. Places where travellers feel at home, and revisit again and again. With properties across Australia and New Zealand, we're shaping a new kind of stay; one that's rooted in community, culture, and creative detail.

Perks of the Gig

  • A dynamic, inclusive work environment where every day looks a little different
  • Real opportunities to grow your career across a fast-expanding brand
  • Discounted stays at our hostels across Australia and New Zealand – for you, your family, and your friends
  • Deals on brands you actually use, like JB Hi-Fi, Uber Eats, and more
  • Free counselling and wellness support through our Employee Assistance Program – just a call away
  • Permanent team members get their birthday off, paid – because you deserve it
  • Flexible hybrid work arrangements that support productivity and balance
  • Travel opportunities across Australia and New Zealand to support projects on the ground, connect with stakeholders, and see your work come to life

The Role

We are seeking a highly organised Procurement and Construction Coordinator to support the successful delivery of projects across compliance, procurement, and operational functions.

This is a hybrid role that blends traditional project management with hands-on involvement in procurement processes, vendor management, and business administration.

You'll ensure projects are delivered in line with regulatory requirements, while also helping manage the day-to-day administrative, financial and procurement needs that keep projects running smoothly.

From coordinating logistics to managing supplier timelines, this is a role for someone who gets the details right and keeps things moving behind the scenes calmly, creatively, and always with an eye for good design.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Keep projects on track – managing timelines, budgets, and quality from start to finish
  • Navigate regulatory, contractual, and policy requirements to keep us compliant and audit-ready
  • Create and maintain key project docs like risk registers, compliance logs, and clean, organised records
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and audit teams to make sure we're ticking all the governance boxes
  • Drive procurement efforts – draft scopes of work, build schedules, and manage execution on site
  • Partner with acquisitions and finance teams to support contract negotiation and vendor onboarding
  • Keep an eye on supplier performance and make sure procurement stays aligned with project delivery
  • Own the admin backbone – scheduling, reporting, and helping plan resourcing across the team
  • Track spend, manage invoices, and keep procurement approvals streamlined and up to date
  • Support board reporting and governance updates with clear, sharp documentation
  • Jump in when things get tricky – be our calm, solutions-focused go-to for operational challenges

What We're Looking For

  • A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Construction, Operations, Procurement, or a related field
  • Experience delivering hospitality, design, and/or compliance-driven projects
  • A strong track record in project management, construction coordination, or commercial procurement
  • Confidence running sourcing and RFP processes, and making smart, informed vendor choices
  • A solid grasp of compliance, governance, and audit requirements that impact project delivery
  • Serious organisational skills and a get-it-done attitude when it comes to problem-solving
  • An eye for thoughtful design – furniture, finishes, and the details that make a space feel just right
  • Great communicator with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and build trust with stakeholders
  • Comfortable using project and procurement tools, Excel (or similar), and managing high-volume comms
  • Experience with architectural software like Revit or SketchUp is a bonus
  • Ready to hit the road – this role includes travel across Australia and New Zealand to support our projects on the ground

Why Work With Us?

Drifter is a welcoming and inclusive space where people come together to share stories and new experiences. We welcome guests and employees from all races, places, gender expressions and beliefs to be part of our team.

This is more than a job – it's a chance to shape a new kind of travel culture across two of the world's most adventurous countries. You'll join a passionate, collaborative team, get to work across iconic destinations, and grow with a brand that's just getting started.

If you're highly organised, design-minded, and excited by the idea of bringing projects to life across unique spaces, we'd love to hear from you.
