About the Role
As the Manager, Traffic and Transport you will:
- Lead strategic transport planning that enhances safety, accessibility and liveability across diverse urban and local centres.
- Oversee high-impact traffic operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, technical excellence and responsive service delivery.
- Deliver community-focused traffic and parking solutions, balancing growth, sustainability and public expectations.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement, integrating data, digital tools and specialist advice to optimise transport outcomes.
- Empower a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, capability building and a culture of performance and accountability.
What You'll Bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Traffic or Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Civil Works, Urban Planning or equivalent discipline.
- Extensive expertise in traffic and transport planning, with hands-on experience managing parking systems, regulatory enforcement, and urban mobility strategies.
- Proven leadership in multidisciplinary environments, coordinating engineering, policy, and operational teams to deliver integrated transport outcomes.
- Strong understanding of NSW and Australian transport legislation, technical standards (Austroads, TfNSW), and compliance frameworks.
- Experience managing complex transport challenges in high-growth areas, including CBD renewal, multi-stage developments, and transit-oriented projects.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to navigate politically sensitive issues and build trust across community and government.
Desirable Criteria:
- Postgraduate qualifications or professional development in transport planning, traffic engineering, or public safety.
- Eligibility for professional membership, such as Engineers Australia, Planning Institute of Australia, or relevant transport bodies.
