The Oliver Hume Property Division consists of three businesses: Property Development, Property Funds and Residential Land Lease Communities. Property Development undertakes and manages quality residential property development projects, including broad acre land subdivisions and built form projects. Property Funds is a specialist funding syndication and investment management business that brings together investor and pools funds to undertake residential development. This business holds an Australian Financial Services Licence. Residential Land Lease Communities is the new business OH is building which will develop and manage high quality over 55 residential communities, which will typically contain a central clubhouse and range of lifestyle amenities.

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting newly created opportunity for an experienced development professional to join as Senior Development Manager. This role will manage the successful delivery of a complex residential development projects portfolio safely, within program, within budget and to high-quality utilising a team of internal and external team members.

Reporting to the Managing Director OHPF, the role will work on an allocated portfolio of land subdivision development projects.

Some duties and responsibilities will include:

• Ensuring the projects are scoped, designed, and delivered to achieve project vision and required profitability.
• Proactive and effective characterisation, identification and mitigation of risks.
• Leading, directing and managing resources to ensure all aspects of project delivery are achieved.
• Providing strategic insights into the approvals process to futureproof the delivery pipeline.
• Ensure projects are being delivered in-line with the OHPF projects Governance Framework
• Leading, managing and coaching team members to build their engagement, capabilities and knowledge.
• Participate in key industry events to ensure business outcomes are achieved and industry strength is recognised.

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications in either; architecture, engineering, planning, property or construction
• At least 10 years' experience in leading residential projects with experience in successfully negotiating with the relevant service authorities & local councils.
• Proven commercial acumen with the ability to apply and maintain a focus on improving financial outcomes
• Proven understanding of the development industry with a focus on key drivers and the ability to tailor the product mix to suit varying market trends/consumer sentiment
• Along with the technical skills, high level of emotional intelligence, sound written and verbal communication skills, a strong business acumen, an ability to embrace new initiatives, and the drive and self-motivation to produce positive outcomes both on the project and within the business.
