Senior Operations Manager

Territory Executive Level 3 (TE3) – Christmas Island

Full Time Ongoing

The Indian Ocean Territories Administration (IOTA) is currently seeking motivated, experienced and suitably qualified persons to join our team as the Senior Operations Manager within the Indian Ocean Territories Operations Service (IOTOS) on Christmas Island.

The IOTOS is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of services and infrastructure across Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands in the interest of the Commonwealth including Commonwealth owned properties and infrastructure, community services including distribution of licences and permits, justice, fleet, land management and contracts and project management.

The key responsibilities of the Senior Operations Manager are to:

· Manage a team responsible for a diverse operations portfolio across Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands

· Ensure services are delivered efficiently, ethically and in line with legislative and departmental requirements

· Manage the maintenance, upkeep and renewal of building and civil work assets, plant equipment, fleet vehicles, hospital equipment, emergency services and communications equipment,

· Manage and administer land, buildings and housing including heritage and environmental management

Our ideal applicant will have high level project management experience, demonstrated experience in developing and administrating contracts, the ability to work as part of a high performing team and have the demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships in a complex environment while delivering outcomes.

Applicants who have relevant tertiary qualification or professional experience, experience operating within a State or Federal Government environment and demonstrated ability to live in a small, multi-cultural and remote community will be well regarded.

To be considered, applicants must be eligible to obtain a security clearance at Baseline Vetting Level (must be an Australian citizen), satisfy a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, hold a current 'C' class drivers licence transferrable to the Indian Ocean Territories and be subject to a health assessment.
