Key competencies (role specific criteria)

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:

Demonstrated knowledge and ability to screen and where authorised, report and validate non-gynaecological cytology preparations.

Demonstrated ability to undertake, or rapidly acquire the skills to undertake, cytology specimen preparation, assessment, diagnostic testing and related duties.

Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively within a team environment to achieve the goals of the work unit.

Demonstrated willingness and ability to actively participate in and contribute to continuing education and other professional development activities.

Qualifications, registrations and other requirements

The successful applicant must hold at least a Bachelor of Applied Science majoring in Medical Laboratory Science (or agreed equivalent) from a recognised university or tertiary institution.

CT(ASC) qualification or agreed equivalent.

Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of duties.
