About the opportunity

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a highly motivated Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team on a temporary part-time basis at Gosford Hospital.

This role is based within the Chemical Pathology Laboratory, providing comprehensive diagnostic services for the Central Coast Local Health District. It offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team dedicated to delivering quality pathology results to support patient care and clinical outcomes.

What you'll be doing

Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) and technical tasks by applying established methods and procedures. Undertake other laboratory duties including preparation of materials and maintenance of equipment in line with laboratory protocols.

  • Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services within a relevant discipline, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems
  • Ability to work responsibly and efficiently, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team and autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes
  • Customer-focused approach with good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve issues in the laboratory environment
  • Commitment to quality management and continuous improvement activities

Occupational Assessment, Screening, and Vaccination

This is a Category A position.
