House of Pocket were one of the first on the small bar scene in Sydney when we opened Pocket Bar Darlinghurst in 2009. Since then, we have opened a bunch more venues throughout NSW. will give you a feel for what we are about.

House of Pocket is committed to offering an experience without the bull, meaning unpretentious and genuine. We look to translate this both to our guests and our staff. As such we are on the hunt primarily for like minded people.

A bit about the role

We are on the lookout for an experienced Venue Manager to join our team.

We currently have a full-time role on offer which will have you will help support the Venue Manager in leading a small team and running a venue from top to bottom.

Meaning, with the support of the exec team, you will have your hands in everything

We are looking for a track record of proactivity along with a genuine interest in cocktails, food & service. These will be key attributes of the successful candidate.

The must haves:

  • 2 years leadership experience in a similar venue (restaurant or bar)
  • Demonstrated initiative
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to train junior team members
  • Ability to respond rather than react under pressure.
  • Well presented and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • & just a good human.
