We're looking for a people-focused, strategic Risk Assurance or Audit leader to take a newly created role and build our Line 2 Risk Assurance function. As Senior Leader - Risk Assurance, you'll drive the design and delivery of a forward-thinking assurance strategy that supports the continued uplift of risk and compliance performance across the bank.

Specifically, this will include:

  • Designing and embedding a consolidated Line 2 assurance framework, methodologies, and processes across all material risk classes.
  • Developing and executing a comprehensive, risk-based annual Line 2 Assurance Plan.
  • Leading and coaching a team of Senior Risk Assurance Specialists to build capability and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Engaging with senior stakeholders to communicate progress, themes and insights from assurance activity.
  • Providing regular assurance reporting to Management and Board Committees to inform strategic risk oversight.

About You

You're a senior Risk or Audit professional with deep expertise in assurance and a passion for leading teams and delivering outcomes.

We also seek:

  • Significant experience in internal audit or risk assurance, including experience in a senior leadership role within the financial services industry
  • Strong technical knowledge in risk profiling, control effectiveness, and assurance methodologies.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex issues to non-technical stakeholders, influence at executive level, and drive engagement.
  • A collaborative and commercial mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to continuous learning, team development, and innovation in assurance practice.

Additionally, tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business or a related discipline is essential as is professional accreditation such as CA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent in risk/compliance.
