The Role:

Location: Mount Barker SA

Duration: 24-month Traineeship

As a Library Services Trainee, you will work in a small team, providing high level customer service to the community through quality library services.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist library customers at the Service Desk
  • Provide support to customers in the use of library technology and online resources
  • Assist with maintaining the condition of library collections
  • Generate, print and action the daily on shelf report for customers
  • Contribute to a cohesive, supportive and efficient library team
  • Participate in special library projects as required

About You:

To be successful in this Traineeship, you will need:

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to build rapport with a variety of individuals
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
  • Physically capable of performing tasks such as standing for extended periods or kneeling when required

Role Requirements:

  • Driver's licence and access to reliable vehicle
  • National Police Check and Working with Children Clearance (or willing to obtain)
  • Able to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Strong computer and typing skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience in customer service and/or administration (desirable)
