  • Make an impact behind the scenes of academic excellence
  • Part-time (0.5), fixed-term position (until March 2027) at our Hawthorn campus
  • HEW6 salary + 17% super and staff benefits

About the Role

At Swinburne, we're driven by curiosity, innovation, and connection — and none of that happens without the right people in the right place at the right time. That's where you come in.

We're looking for an organised and proactive Workforce Coordinator to take the lead in coordinating academic workforce and sessional operations across our schools. Reporting to the Manager, Academic Workforce Operations, you'll be the go-to expert for ensuring everything runs smoothly — from recruitment and HR processes to payment validation and process improvement.

You'll collaborate closely with People & Culture and other central university areas, providing trusted advice and delivering exceptional service to staff and stakeholders at every level. If you love creating order from complexity and take pride in getting the details right, this is the role for you.

At Swinburne, you'll join a forward-thinking, supportive team that values initiative, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We offer hybrid working options, opportunities for professional growth, and the satisfaction of contributing to a university that's shaping a smarter, more connected world.

About You

You're someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys being at the heart of things. You bring:

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills — you know how to get things done through collaboration and respect.
  • Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • A good understanding of HR processes and workforce practices, paired with sound judgement and problem-solving ability.
  • Advanced computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • A proactive mindset, always looking for ways to make systems and processes better.

Qualifications

Completion of a bachelor degree with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
