Dental Receptionist - Front Office Lead

About the Role

This boutique dental practice is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Front Office Lead to join their small, happy team.  This is a chance to be the first welcoming face for patients and the heart of the practice, providing a level of care that goes beyond the ordinary.  This team delivers a full spectrum of dental services, from general and preventative care to cosmetic and complex surgical procedures.

This is a full-time position for a reliable, organised, and friendly individual.  The successful person will work a varied schedule with patients booked:

  • Monday - Wednesday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Thursday: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM (with two full days a month until 5:00 PM on surgical days)

The practice works as a cohesive team and is looking for someone with dental experience who can seamlessly handle front desk duties while being happy and willing to relieve as a dental assistant occasionally.   This practice is growing and searching for a natural leader who can take ownership of the front office, supporting the growth and vision of the principal dentist.

What the Role Entails

As the 'warm welcome' at the front desk, you'll be the cornerstone of a smooth patient experience.  Your duties will include:

  • Providing outstanding customer service with excellent phone etiquette.
  • Managing the appointment book with precision to ensure a productive schedule.
  • Handling patient bookings, payments, and end-of-day reconciliation.
  • Data entry, reporting, and preparing information for payroll and recalls.
  • Building lasting relationships with patients by making them feel comfortable and valued.
  • Helping in steri and supporting practitioners, when needed.

This is a pivotal role that also offers the opportunity to participate in practice management tasks, including supporting the principal with key performance indicators (KPIs), assisting with commission calculations and invoicing, and contributing to the overall growth and success of the practice.

The practice believes in a holistic approach to dental health, focusing on comprehensive care and building long-term relationships with its patients.  You'll be part of a team that's proud of its preventative care results and the personal connections it creates.  This is a place where genuine care for every individual patient matters, and the team goes above and beyond to help them on their journey to oral health, whether it's for general dental care, teeth whitening, or more advanced procedures like implants and facial cosmetic treatments.

Qualities the Practice is Seeking

The ideal person is a cheerful and energetic individual who is organised and stays on task.  This team needs someone who thrives on managing the many roles of the front office, multitasking and feeling in control of their front office area with pride,  and who is always ready to learn and grow.  The ideal candidate will be:

  • Professional, pleasant, and friendly.
  • A professional and pleasant leader who thrives in a dynamic setting.
  • Attentive to detail and able to follow directions.
  • A true team member who is happy to support colleagues and be supported.
  • Easy-going and polite in all communications.

What the Practice Offers

  • Remuneration:  A fair and relevant hourly rate, based on experience and negotiation.
  • Professional Development: The practice is dedicated to your growth.  They offer paid training and support for your personal development plan, including dedicated training on Principle software, and a dedicated front desk coach.
  • Bonuses: High performers are rewarded for their dedication.
  • Uniforms: A provided uniform makes getting ready for work a breeze.

The practice's mission is to create a safe, comfortable place where everyone can get the best dental health care.  Their values are built on genuine care, teamwork, integrity, and respect.  If you're ready to join a supportive, boutique practice where they know and care for their patients individually, we encourage you to apply.  Please provide a cover letter responding to this role and your up-to-date resume, which demonstrates your relevant dental experience.
