With a growing workforce and expanding project portfolio, we are seeking an experienced HR professional to help us strengthen our internal systems, enhance employee management, and align performance with company objectives.
Role Description
We are looking for a proactive HR Manager / HR Consultant to join our team on a part-time or hourly basis. This role will suit an HR professional who enjoys both strategic and hands-on work—someone who can establish structure, streamline HR processes, and support leadership in managing people performance and compliance.
You will play a key role in developing our HR framework, implementing best practices, and building systems that support staff engagement, professional development, and KPI-based performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and implement HR policies, procedures, and systems suitable for a growing engineering and construction business.
- Review and enhance existing employee records, contracts, and position descriptions to ensure compliance and clarity.
- Assist management in establishing performance metrics (KPIs) and review processes across departments.
- Support recruitment activities, including drafting job ads, shortlisting candidates, and onboarding new hires.
- Advise on employee relations, workplace culture, and professional development initiatives.
- Ensure HR processes meet Fair Work and WHS requirements.
- Set up or improve HR software systems, timesheets, and documentation workflows where required.
- Provide ongoing HR advice and consultancy on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications & Skills
• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in HR management, consulting, or advisory roles (experience in construction or engineering sectors preferred).
• Strong understanding of Australian employment law, Fair Work standards, and HR compliance.
• Experience in KPI frameworks, performance reviews, and workforce planning.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver practical solutions.
• Proficiency with Employment Hero Software.
