We are looking for a Project Manager to be responsible for leading and managing the successful delivery and implementation of the Queensland Procurement Solution (VendorPanel platform) within a State Government department.

Your new role

  • Develop and execute a suitable project plan including detailed delivery schedules for the design and implementation
  • Manage relationships with implementation partners, vendors and the vendor platform development team
  • Strategic stakeholder engagement across business units to suitably manage and imbed the change (using ADKAR or similar change methodology)
  • Manage the successful migration of data and processes
  • Facilitate and lead solution and ideation workshops with subject matter experts, stakeholders and vendors to suitably configure, standardise and optimise procurement processes, systems and functionality
  • Provide day-to-day management and oversight of resources for the development, implementation and delivery
  • Proactively manage risk and issue identification, mitigation, and resolution
  • Develop project progress reports, status updates, relevant correspondence, briefing notes, submissions, communications and other relevant correspondence as required
  • Lead, manage and coordinate internal inputs and resources to support the implementation partner and vendor.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in Project Manager or Implementation Manager roles
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies, including Agile
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and implementation partners
  • Ability to communicate with influence to ensure deliverables, timelines, responsibilities, and performance metrics are articulated and agreed
  • Capability to engage with stakeholders across business units to gather requirements, communicate project updates, and maintain stakeholder support and involvement
  • Experience in risk management, including the identification and mitigation of issues and project risks
  • Ability to communicate with influence, lead design (configuration) and enhancement discussions to optimise solution capability and standardise processes to minimise wastage and enhance user experience.
  • Proficiency in translating manual processes to electronic platforms
  • Ability to proactively address challenges, conflicts, and issues that may arise during the project
  • Ability to pass a Criminal History Check

Agile Project Management, PMP or similar project management certifications would be highly regarded. Previous experience in a similar role within Government or Public Sector would be advantageous.
