About Us:

The Offender Services and Reintegration (OSR) division of Corrections Victoria (CV) is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including case management, education, training and employment, prison industries and rehabilitation and reintegration supports. The division contributes to a safer community by supporting a safe and humane corrections system that provides opportunities for rehabilitation, supports reintegration and works toward Aboriginal self-determination.

The Employment Pathways Team integrate and consolidate existing employment initiatives as well as operationalise new employment service delivery models and services to assist people in prison to get job ready and connect them with employers and job opportunities for meaningful post release employment. As part of OSR's Inside to Outside Jobs strategy, this directly contributes to successful reintegration, reduced recidivism and community safety.

Employment Pathways aims to:

  • integrate and consolidate existing employment initiatives
  • explore and operationalise new employment service delivery models, including pre- and post-release services
  • link and connect people in prison with education, industries, and employers to create job opportunities and meaningful post-release employment

What you will do:

As Project Support Officer based at 50 Franklin Street, you will support Employment Specialists located at various Employment Hubs located at prison sites across Victoria that contribute to the planning, development and implementation of a state-wide coordinated employment service across Victoria's prison system, by:

  • providing high quality broad project support including operational delivery of various employment service streams across multi sites, development and delivery of marketing and communications strategy, activities and events
  • actively support and participate in various direct recruitment activities working in collaboration with employer partners and a range of internal stakeholders
  • coordinate and liaise with relevant working parties and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders towards the promotion and development of integrated service responses to the rehabilitation of people engaged in the justice system

About You:

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Experience in providing high quality administrative support at the senior management level.
  • Understands operational environment and works effectively, responding to changes, implementing responses, and providing analyses and suggesting improvements to support decision making.
  • Understanding and awareness of the key issues impacting Corrections Victoria, particularly within the area of program and services for people engaged in the justice system.
  • No formal qualifications required.
