Frontier Services is Australia's oldest bush charity, supporting people living in rural and remote areas of Australia since 1912. Through our national networks of Bush Chaplains and Outback Links volunteers, we provide practical, pastoral and spiritual care to people in need in isolated areas.  Frontier Services is an agency of the Uniting Church, the third-largest Christian denomination in Australia. We receive no government funding, relying on donations from our amazing supporters to help deliver our vital programs to those in need.

Position Overview

Frontier Services is dedicated to raising funds to support its two core programs – Bush Chaplains and Outback Links volunteers – which transform the lives of those living in rural and remote Australia.

Reporting to the Individual Giving Manager, and working collaboratively with the wider fundraising team, the Fundraising Campaigns Coordinator is responsible for the development and execution of fundraising appeals, newsletters, merchandise sales and occasional fundraising activities like Supporter Surveys, Giving Days.

The role will also coordinate supporter care activities including Welcome journeys, Thank- Yous, and other retention activities in conjunction with the Individual Giving Manager.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Coordinate the development and execution of all fundraising appeals, newsletters and merchandise sales, in conjunction with the Individual Giving Manager.
  • Coordinate the development and execution of donor care activities, including Welcome journeys, Thank You calls/letters/cards, and other retention activities in conjunction with the Individual Giving Manager.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure fundraising campaigns are integrated across communication channels and other organisational activities.
  • Manage external supplier relationships – strategic agencies, printers, copywriters and designers – to ensure long-lasting, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Ensure all fundraising campaign content is on brand, relevant, timely and provides donors with both the impact and outcome of their donations.
  • Ensure all direct mail, digital fundraising appeals and newsletters are lodged on time, and to the right audience.
  • Work with the Database Administrator and other teams to ensure consistent and compliant data practices, communications and reporting in Salesforce and affiliated systems for all fundraising campaigns.
  • Ensure all campaign budgets and expenditures are adhered to.
  • Monitor and report on fundraising campaign activities and identify opportunities for improved results, supporter experience and/or business efficiencies.
  • Research and suggest innovative strategies to grow revenue, increase our donor base and improve the performance of the fundraising campaigns program.

Position Specific Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience Essential

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in fundraising, direct marketing and/or donor relations (a good working knowledge of fundraising theory and/or a solid understanding of the NFP sector will be highly regarded).
  • Proven skills in time management, organisation and prioritisation of competing deadlines.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, taking a high level of responsibility for quality.
  • Ability to work well with others and a commitment to a collaborative, team-based approach.

Desirable

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management software, preferably Salesforce.
  • An understanding of the Uniting Church structure or experience within the religious institution sector
  • Familiarity with/understanding of the social, environmental, political and spiritual landscape, including the challenges and opportunities of rural and remote Australia.
  • Qualifications in a relevant discipline.
