The Opportunity:

We are seeking a driven, entrepreneurial Head of Fundraising & Commercial Partnerships to lead fundraising and commercial activity for a premier Australian esports team (our own entity). This is a hands-on, client-facing role where your immediate focus will be on sourcing, negotiating, and closing sponsorship deals, as well as running dedicated fundraising campaigns for this fast-growing organization in Australia with strong growth potential.

This is a high-impact role with a success-fee compensation model (high upside per deal closed), and an expectation to work across multiple time zones, with a primary focus on AEST hours.

What You'll Do:

• Lead commercial & sponsorship efforts
  : Develop, identify, approach, and secure endemic and non-endemic commercial partners and sponsors for our Australian entity, leveraging our elite competitive status, social reach, and audience engagement in the APAC and global esports scene.
• Expand fundraising strategies: Develop,
  Launch and run fundraising campaigns, tapping into the esports fanbase, angels, VCs, family offices to launch brand activations, and innovative monetization methods.
• Develop compelling partner propositions
  : Tailor and pitch creative partnership packages, integrating sponsors into content, broadcasts, merchandise, events, and digital assets.
• Drive revenue growth
  : Execute a high-success fee model where your compensation is directly tied to your success, with significant earning potential based on the high-value opportunities available.
• Stakeholder management
  : Act as the key point of contact for sponsors, fundraising partners, and internal teams, ensuring world-class relationship management and activation delivery.
• Market research & reporting
  : Analyze market trends, identify new partnership categories, and provide regular progress reports to Based in Universe and our clients.

Work across global projects with multiple time zones, with a focus on AEST/APAC hours to maximize impact for this engagement.

About You:

• Proven experience in sponsorship sales, fundraising, or business development. Ideally in esports, sports, or digital/entertainment sectors.
• Demonstrated success in closing high-value commercial deals and running fundraising campaigns.
• Strong network of brand and agency contacts in APAC and/or globally.
• Deep understanding of esports, gaming audiences, and digital-first partnership models.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to work independently and deliver results.
• Comfortable working remotely and flexibly across time zones.
