Rural and Remote Engagement Manager (Aged Care Workforce)

Regional, Rural and Remote Home Care Workforce Support Program (RRR HCWSP)

Working across Western Australia, lead the delivery of targeted, genuine and responsive community engagement to build stakeholder relationships across local care and support providers, training organisations, community members and community-based organisations across Regional, Rural and Remote locations including the Kimberley, Mid West, Manjimup, Albany and Esperance. This Federally Funded Program focusses on aged care workforce and funded activities will be delivered in a place-based, community-led sustainable way. Identification of key partnerships to grow local aged care workforces, connect training opportunities and support employers to adopt best practice workforce planning and management will be key to the success of this role. This is a mobile role which will involve travel, with key linkages to the Program's Queensland Operating Hub. It is expected that the Program delivery model will combine both direct engagement and delivery by Skills Hubs in combination with collaborative partnerships with local community-based organisations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

· Build relationships with local and regional stakeholders involved in the care economy using a sustainable community development approach

· Gather key insights and data to shape effective and efficient Program delivery

· Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders

· Connect local need to Program solutions, across training, workforce development and attraction and retention of aged care workforce

· Deliver genuine engagement to local communities, listening and understanding where the key connection points are between the local aged care landscape and the funded activities within the Program

· Confidently engage face-to-face, as well as through phone, video and written communications

· Contribute to feedback and reporting

· Keep up-to-date with Aged Care Reforms and the impact on Regional, Rural and Remote areas

· Understand the national and state-based VET sector, streamline connection between training, emerging workforce and employers

· Co-ordinate community-based and national Program engagement events

· Attend key engagement events/conferences/networking opportunities to promote and connect the Program with those it is intended for

· Understand and work in a culturally-informed way

· Engage with local aged care providers to understand workforce need, connect to Program solutions and encourage involvement in Communities of Practice and other network and connection opportunities as identified locally

Key Attributes:

· Strong existing local networks

· High level communication and interpersonal skills

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience in community services, the aged care/or disability sector in a not for profit environment

· Ability to build trust and rapport with communities in a genuine and sustainable way

· Proven ability to work in a values-driven environment under the parameters of a Government-funded program and manage small budgets under funding guidelines

· Existing understanding of the Aged Care and Training sectors and proven ability to work with regional, rural and remote communities.

· Think laterally and apply professional judgement in an autonomous setting

Mandatory

· Have and maintain a current Australian Driver License and capacity to travel as needed within the region.

· Undergo a criminal history screening prior to commencement and maintain a clear criminal history screening annually.
