About the role
AHL is seeking a full-time Housing Services Team Leader to lead our small and capable Housing Services team based in Albany.
This role is responsible for managing the delivery of high-quality frontline tenancy and property management. The role will be responsible for the successful day-to-day management of housing services, with a focus on sustainable tenancy outcomes, quality customer service, staff safety, and empowerment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Oversee the delivery of quality service provision of AHL's community housing portfolio across residential tenancy and license to occupy agreements
- Manage the housing services team to deliver effective and efficient services
- Undertake the allocation and management of housing resources
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to housing services, including management of complaints and feedback
- Identify opportunities for service improvements and make recommendations
- Oversee and manage rental payments, rent setting, rent reviews, and ensure strategies are in place for debts to be paid in a timely manner
- Oversee and monitor inspections, including property condition reports, routine inspections, vacate inspections and asset management tasks to ensure quality management
- Actively support and participate in stakeholder meetings
- Manage housing services team to build a culture of personal excellence, accountability, collaboration, and high performance
About You
We are seeking a suitable applicant with the following key attributes:
- Relevant experience in community housing or social services
- Strong knowledge of tenancy legislation and housing systems
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to support and develop a team
- Experience delivering quality, compliant services to a range of tenants
- Excellent communication, reporting, and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- A commitment to equity, inclusion, and cultural diversity
- Must be eligible to work in Australia

a) Demonstrated ability to lead, develop and mentor a team to achieve organisational goals and targets.
b) Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks governing tenancy management in a social and/or community housing context
c) Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships, including the public.
d) Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
